Zabeta commenced pupillage in November 2024 under the supervision of Manoj Rupasinghe and Jay Nutkins.

Zabeta previously worked as a Paralegal in the Crown Court department where she worked on cases in all areas of criminal law including: drug conspiracies, complex fraud, robbery, sexual violence and murder. 

Zabeta is a Major Scholar of The Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn and, alongside working as a Paralegal, studied the Barrister Training Course part-time at BBP University which she completed with Distinction.

Previously Zabeta read Law at the University of Leicester and obtained an LLM in Criminal Justice Law from Queen Mary University of London.

Operation Roach (Inner London Crown Court)  

A financial investigation dealing with fraud by abuse of position by a Santander employee.  


Serious Violence

Operation Cyclaman, Snaresbrook Crown Court 

Alleged victim was driven to various locations from London then kept in a hotel room in Nottingham, with a ransom request for £200,000. 

 

Operation Karoo, Reading Crown Court 

Represented the defendant who was a teacher charged with GBH. The case involved the defendant acting in self-defence to remove people from his property. He was acquitted at trial.  

 

Operation Bolden, St Albans Crown Court 

18 year old female charged with perverting the course of justice linked to an attempted murder (shooting) of a 16 year old in Hertfordshire. A number of prison calls are to be used in evidence in this case between defendant and co-defendant. 


Human Trafficking, Slavery, Prostitution & Facilitation

Operation Supermarine, Swindon Crown Court 

Represented the defendant charged with conspiracy to control and manage a brothel. The Crown alleged a Romanian organised crime group luring in females in the pretence of love, the “lover boy” theory, then getting the females to work in brothels which they would then run.  


Drugs

Operation Callanish, Snaresbrook Crown Court 

This case involved 21 defendants who conspired to supply class A dugs in London and is currently ongoing which will involve a number of legal arguments in relation to the evidence.  

 

R v K, Snaresbrook Crown Court 

Case involving a defendant charged with conspiracy to supply 15kg of class A.  Successfully limited the client’s involvement to 5kg. 


Sexual Offences

Operation Wrothy, Luton Crown Court 

Represented the defendant who was charged with the rape and kidnap of a 17 year old who had learning difficulties. This case was classified as a “stranger rape” case.
