Police Station Representative Accreditation Scheme 2025

Since joining the firm in 2023, Joseph has assisted in a variety of both fast-paced Magistrates’ and complex Crown Court work. This includes, but is not limited to, work on offences concerning serious violence involving firearms, fraud, terrorism, and the largest reported human trafficking case in Europe. He offers conviction, understanding, and attention to detail in the work provided to both lay and professional clients.

Joseph is also qualified, and regularly represent clients in the police station, ensuring they are aware of their rights and protects their interests against actions from the police.

Before Joseph joined Lloyds PR Solicitors, whilst undertaking his Masters’ in the Barrister Training Course, he volunteered as a caseworker for the South West London Law Centres. In this role, Joseph provided legal support concerning social welfare rights of individuals facing imminent homelessness or bankruptcy. In addition to working with the BPP Pro-bono Centre on consumer law issues involving substantial debts. Characterising Joseph's interpersonal skills with vulnerable clients, he understands the pressures clients face during criminal proceedings, offering insight and support through all stages of the process. 

Joseph was called to the Bar by The Honourable Society of Middle Temple in 2023.

Practice Areas

Serious Violence

o   R v A [2024]

Concerns the alleged aggravated burglary, s. 18 with intent, armed with a firearm and dangerous weapon.

o   R v I [2023]

 Successfully discontinued proceedings in matter concerning common assault after written representations to the CPS.


Human Trafficking, Slavery, Prostitution & Facilitation

R v S [2024]

- This matter concerned the alleged human trafficking of an underage individual on several occasions of 4 years.

- Assisted in outcome of the prosecution offering no evidence following disclosure failures and public interest arguments.

- Resulting in Not Guilty verdicts being entered for our client.

 

R v B [2024]

- Matter concerned large human trafficking ring in Poland with a view to sexually exploit individuals by of a prostitution service.

- Involved analysis of significant investigation period and telephone evidence.

 

R v B [2025]

- Concerned allegations of child abduction to Syria.

- Despite ‘flight risk’ stemming from no community ties, seriousness of the allegation and fears of committing further offences, was successful in obtaining conditional bail.


Theft, Burglary & Robbery

R v S, A & R

- Represented co-defendants in series of multi hander trials comprising of thefts of over 20 motor vehicles, and handling stolen goods.

- Matters included significant cell site, ANPR, handset and forensic evidence over a significant indictment period.


Drugs

R v M [Trial set for 2026]

- Involved representing client involved in significant drug supply network.

 

R v A [2025]

- Represented lead defendant in ‘county-lines’ drug operation, in conjunction with charges of s. 18 GBH  and the use of weapons.

- Involved significant analysis of phone, forensic, cell site and cctv evidence.


Sexual Offences

R v H [2024]

- Assisted counsel in successful abuse of process argument in a case involving vast quantities of Cat A, B and C indecent images and videos.

- HHJ then directed to enter Not Guilty Pleas to all counts on the indictment.

- Involved substantial analysis of evidence disclosed by way of multiple phone and computer downloads.

 

R v S [2024]

- Indecent images case involving extra jurisdictional elements of American law enforcement.

 

R v G [2025]

- Indecent images and sexual assault case involving extra jurisdictional elements of Chinese law enforcement being involved.

 

R v W [2025]

- Inciting a child to engage in sexual acts through the app of ‘Grindr’, required complex analysis of phone evidence. 

 

R v A [2025]

- Accusation of several instances of rape, assault, coercive and controlling behaviour, and strangulation.

- Includes wider complications of third parties placing financial pressures on the complainant.

 


Murder & Serious Offences

Operation Lowman (2025)

Represented a Ukrainian national accused of committing arson with intent to endanger the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Sir Keir Starmer MP.

Operation Aloft (2025)

Represented a defendant who formed part of a prosecution against the allegations of abuse of position, corruption and bribery within Liverpool City Council.

Operation Morella (2025)

Represented two co-defendants who formed part of a large Organised Crime Group accused of controlling prostitution for gain, whose operation spanned the London, Essex and Northampton area(s).

Operation Clarmont (2025)

Represented a client who formed part of a conspiracy to kidnap, cause grievous bodily harm with intent, and possession of two offensive weapons (a sword and flick knife).

Operation Dragonfly (2024)

Represented the defendant who formed part of a large Organised Crime Group accused of human trafficking and controlling prostitution for gain from Poland to the UK. The client was acquitted of all but one charge on the indictment. 

R v S [2024]

- Matter concerned the alleged murder of an individual by a group, Lloyds PR Solicitors were instructed to represent the lead defendant.

- Assisted counsel in outcome of not guilty verdicts for murder in exchange for a manslaughter conviction.

- Substantial work involving expert evidence, assessing phone evidence and consulting local authorities.


Fraud / Money Laundering

Royal Borough of Bexley v R (2024)

Represented a client who was involved in an alleged counterfeiting operation for Rolex watches, the total value of the operation was over £31 million.
