Lou Lou is a caseworker in the Serious and Complex Crime team which litigates in high-profile and the most complex criminal and white-collar matters across England and Wales. Lou Lou obtained her degree in English Literature and Language (BA) from Hertford College at the University of Oxford before converting to law; completing her LLM at BPP University on a scholarship where she also served as President and co-Founder of the European Law Students Association.
As a caseworker in a busy Crown Court department, Lou Lou has assisted in multiple murder cases (Operation Pochade), high-value frauds (Operation Chaplegate) and drugs conspiracies (Operation Bagshot), litigating against agencies such as the MHRA, Serious Fraud Office and the NCA. Alongside this, she also manages her own active caseload of firearms, drugs, violent and sexual offences. After several successful applications to exclude evidence and careful mitigation, the matter was concluded by way of a community order. Litigated in a sophisticated conspiracy whereby commercial theft occurred over a period of years, incurring a half a million-pound loss to a popular high street retailer and leading to an estimated £50,000 benefit for the defendant alone, who was charged alongside four other individuals. Despite the value and sophistication of the alleged criminal property benefit, the defence successfully secured a suspended sentence for the client.
Operation Croxby, Snaresbrook Crown Court
After advancing a successful defence in a drugs supply matter, the Crown proceeded to drop all charges in relation to the defendant before even reaching trial. Proceedings remained ongoing for the co-defendant who was represented by other solicitors.
